GEOLACE EDIFICE
A basic artist impression of the parametric Geolace bangle scaled into an urban context, has presented a permeable structure with interesting engagement between the land and skyline. Perhaps elements of this conceptualised structure could inspire a large civic space.
The bangle creates a scaffold like structure of minimal surfaces, enhanced further by the perforated patterns, which precisely follow the formation of the surface curves.
The parametric nature of this object generates an innate ability to infinitely scale up and remain proportionate. In post rationalising the elements of this structure as architecture, much of it is already predetermined as in this case function will follow form. Obvious entrances, exits, and floor space are rigid, however the central void and curved peaks could allow for many for a diverse range of public and private program to exist.
